The author has been involved in the special education field for 40 years. She began her career as a parent, then as an advocate for others representing families in due process hearings and helping others with IEP issues.
Pat has a Master of Jurisprudence with a concentration in special education advocacy from St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Tx.
The St. Mary University Law School is the home of the annual Special Education Advocacy Summit, a summer institute for advanced advocates, law students, new lawyers, and lawyers new to special education.
She is currently employed as a paralegal in the Education Division of the Connell Michael Law Firm in Carmel, Indiana.
A long-time Wrightslaw presenter, the author is an Indiana Registered Paralegal and an affiliate member of the Indiana and American Bar Associations.
